The Next Level in Location-Based Games Debuts at PAX Australia!
Below is a copy of the press release sent to Mana Mojo.
Sydney, Australia – October 26, 2016 – After three years of development – all in stealth-mode, Buy Somewhere is finally about to lift the veil at PAX Australiathis November.
Buy Somewhere turns the world around you into a giant game board. Players compete for the ownership of real world property: buy your house, local café or landmarks like Big Ben, The Golden Gate Bridge, The Sydney Opera House and even the Melbourne Exhibition Centre in your journey to build your property empire and make your fortune!
Join the Buy Somewhere team as they take the stage at 4:30pm Saturday November 5 in the GameSpot Theatre in the Melbourne Exhibition Centre during PAX Australia for the world-first reveal. Hear how this game, three years in the making, is about to deliver the world’s most advanced game environment based on location data. Plus, meet the cast of characters, including Mr. Somewhere (pictured left), see the world-first reveal trailer and the first-ever gameplay demo.

- Geoff Mortimer – Co-Founder, Technical Director
- James Milenkovic – Senior Producer
- Michael Tomkins – Art Director
Those who attend the panel will also receive an invitation to the beta (coming soon!) and score an exclusive gold character token to use in the game!
PAX Attendees can also participate in a real-world version of Buy Somewhere!
Attendees should keep their eyes peeled for people wearing large chests on their heads roaming the show floor. Finding a chest will give players dice that they can use in the game located at the Buy Somewhere booth. Roll against all 9 levels of property at the booth, each representing iconic Melbourne landmarks– and if you roll higher than their defence value, you’ll win that property’s collectable card. When you get the 9th card (the skyscraper), you earn the Mr. Somewhere limited edition pin!
